Arabesque International is a family owned and operated breeding program producing purebred Arabian and Straight Egyptian horses. We have lived in San Diego County, California for over 20 years with our three children, Preston, Dean and Alanna. Originally from Australia, I met my husband Hugh, a Canadian, and moved to the U.S. where we’ve raised our family. I came from a family of horse lovers, my grandfather had been a jockey and my father is still involved with thoroughbred horses. I grew up showing open and half Arabian horses acquiring wins at our Australian National and Sydney Royal shows under the guidance of my father who had a pony for me by the age of three. Growing up, I was also fortunate to spend two wonderful years in England jumping and hunting with my father.

We have been breeding Straight Egyptian and Purebreds since the early 80's and appreciate horses from all bloodlines but are most often drawn to horses with some egyptian blood usually through the sons and grandsons of the incomparable Ruminaja Ali (Ali Jamal, Anaza El Farid, Thee Desperado). This blood is found in some of the most beautiful horses in the world today and is a wonderful cross with many of today's leading bloodlines.

Since moving to the U.S. in the mid 80’s I was able to attend most Scottsdale shows, Regions 1 & 2 and Egyptian events. As small breeders the quality of our horses has to be extremely high.
